The fusion of GNSS with inertial measurement units was a turning point in positioning technology. Capable of measuring even very fine movement in X, Y and Z space, as well as pitch, roll and yaw, Inertial sensing uses predictive algorithms to generate high-accuracy measurements at up to 100 Hz, far faster than GNSS unassisted.

Available on our range of high-precision robotic total stations, this technology automatically locates any prisms within a specified area, totally eliminating the need for manual guidance even with close-up prisms adjacent to each other!

The patented Universal Tracking Channels from Topcon are the industry’s only truly scalable technology that tracks any of the available satellite signals, whether it’s a GPS, GLONASS or Galileo signal in any of the L1/E1, L2, or L5/E5 frequencies. Consequently, receivers can track the maximum overhead constellation, ensuring that ideal geometry is maintained for positioning at all times.

Topcon has combined the strengths of GNSS positioning with the coded zonal laser to create a uniquely accurate positioning solution. Applicable to high-tolerance work in constuction, such as paving, Millimeter GPS uses the laser-generated data to tighten vertical accuracy to a few millimeters, while retaining the flexibility and speed of GPS.

Through The Lens Imaging – With our imaging heritage, it’s no surprise to find imaging technology in many of our high-end sensors. These allow users to not only measure, but to actually capture reality. Using the total stations, laser scanners or mobile mapping, What You See IS What You Get.

GNSS signals often reflect and defract as they strike buildings, trees and the like. This results in confused signals called multipath errors. Our patented Fence Antenna technology, found in all our mobile GNSS antennas, can successfully filter out this multipath error, resulting in higher accuracy even in difficult conditions.
